Nonprofit Partnership Agreement

518 Day of Giving is an online, regional day of giving, on May 18, 2024. The event provides nonprofit organizations with the opportunity to gain exposure to – and start relationships with – new donors and encourage philanthropic giving on one single day.

518 Day of Giving is an initiative of United Way of the Greater Capital Region and is designed to deepen the region’s culture of philanthropy.

As a nonprofit organization choosing to participate as a benefiting partner on 518 Day of Giving, UWGCR requires that your organization enter this Nonprofit Partnership Agreement. This document sets forth the roles and responsibilities of all 518 Day of Giving participants:

  1. I confirm that my organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization eligible to receive tax-deductible gifts and will provide an EIN number, contact information, and a representative’s information for verification by GiveGab (Bonterra).
  2. I understand that as the administrator of my nonprofit organization's profile on GiveGab, it is my responsibility to authorize and unauthorize administrative capabilities to other individuals within my organization. I understand that I can choose to allow other individuals full administrative privileges or restrict their ability to view donor data within my organization. I understand that GiveGab will not disclose information about my organization to individual users unless those users are administrative users with appropriate permissions.
  3. I understand that my organization is expected to participate in at least one (1) training with GiveGab and UWGCR.
  4. I understand that UWGCR will provide marketing collateral to participating nonprofit organizations to utilize leading up to, during, and after 518 Day of Giving to generate interest and excitement among donors, volunteers, and the general public.
  5. I understand that my organization is expected to promote 518 Day of Giving through its communication channels leading up to, during, and after 518 Day of Giving.
  6. I understand that if asked to participate in any media engagements, I will notify UWGCR and speak on behalf of all nonprofit organizations participating in the 518 Day of Giving.
  7. I understand that GiveGab.com is an online platform which will safely process all contributions made to the event.
  8. I understand that UWGCR is not responsible for any money contributed to my organization throughout the duration of 518 Day of Giving. Donors choose where to provide gifts and UWGCR has no control of this process.
  9. I understand that the following forms of donations are accepted on 518 Day of Giving: MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and ACH. No donations via check, cash, or stock will be accepted.
  10. I understand that the following fees are applied to online donations for 518 Day of Giving:
    a. GiveGab retains a 3.5% platform fee from all donations.
    b. Credit card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
    c. ACH processing fees are an additional $3.00.
  11. I understand that it is my organization’s responsibility to provide a checking account that is eligible to receive ACH transfers from GiveGab, if a donor opts to pay using ACH. In the case that the bank account supplied is unable to receive the transfer and GiveGab has not heard from my organization in more than 60 days, the donations will be refunded back to the donor.
  12. I understand that my organization will receive all monies that have been donated to my organization minus any transaction fees not covered by the individual donor.
  13. I understand that all donations will be disbursed by GiveGab via electronic funds transfer within 5-7 business days of the event.
  14. 14. I understand that my organization will only have access to donor data including, but not limited to, names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers, for those who provided a gift to my organization and opted to release their personal information on 518 Day of Giving.
  15. Any 518 Day of Giving prize winners chosen on the day of the event are subject to further verification and will be finalized two weeks after the event.

    16. This Memorandum of Understanding is valid upon the time of signature until May 31, 2024.
